About this range
Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and keeps bones and muscles healthy. The skin makes it in sunlight, yet people who spend most of the day indoors or keep their skin covered can still run low.
Doctors give vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in high strengths such as 60,000 I.U., usually once a week or once a month for a set period. A blood test shows whether you need it and how much.
A high-strength capsule is not a daily supplement. Taking more than prescribed can raise the calcium in your blood.
Every medicine here is for use under medical advice. Each product page has its full composition, uses, side effects and safety advice.
