How these medicines work

Gastrointestinal

In this range

For use under medical advice.

Most medicines in this range pair a proton pump inhibitor, which lowers the amount of acid the stomach makes, with a prokinetic, which helps the stomach empty. Doctors commonly prescribe the pair for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), where acid rises into the food pipe and causes heartburn, and for the bloating and nausea that often come with it.

Inside each capsule the ingredients release at different points. The acid reducer is enteric coated, so stomach acid cannot break it down before it is absorbed. Part of the prokinetic is released slowly, over a longer period. The table below shows the release type of every ingredient.

The range also includes a digestive enzyme liquid for indigestion and a heavy feeling after meals.

Every medicine here is for use under medical advice. Each product page has its full composition, uses, side effects and safety advice.
