About Revoclav-CV
Revoclav-CV combines amoxycillin, a penicillin antibiotic, with clavulanic acid, which protects amoxycillin from enzymes that some bacteria use to resist it.
Composition
Each film coated tablet contains
| Ingredient | Strength |
|---|---|
| Amoxycillin Trihydrate IP eq. to Amoxycillin | 500 mg |
| Potassium Clavulanate diluted IP eq. to Clavulanic Acid | 125 mg |
Active ingredients. Excipients and colours are listed on the pack.
Uses of Revoclav-CV
- Respiratory tract infections, including sinus, throat and chest infections
- Ear infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin, soft-tissue and dental infections
Prescribing decisions rest with the registered medical practitioner.
How Revoclav-CV works
Amoxycillin kills bacteria by stopping them building their cell walls. Some bacteria make beta-lactamase enzymes that destroy amoxycillin; clavulanic acid blocks those enzymes, so amoxycillin keeps working.
